Big Sky Safaris

Big Sky Safaris is the bespoke nature-tour operation of Dr. Wenfei Tong, a Harvard-trained ornithologist, wildlife illustrator and writer based at the University of Montana in Missoula. Her research has spanned wild birds at the National Bison Range and Yellowstone, as well as fieldwork on zebras, mice, and brood-parasitic cuckoo finches and honeyguides in Africa and Europe. Tours are tailored, ranging from National Bison Range safaris and Flathead River floats to dedicated birding outings, sketching and photography days, hot-springs visits and winter cross-country ski tours. Trips lean on her scientific background and personal connections to local sites rather than a fixed group-tour calendar.
