About

Avifauna Tours is the guiding operation of wildlife photographer and naturalist Roger Neckles, who is widely regarded as one of the Caribbean's most prominent bird photographers. Born in Trinidad and educated in London, Roger has spent more than three decades leading nature photography tours and workshops across Trinidad and Tobago and parts of Central and South America. His images have appeared in National Geographic, the BBC and a long list of natural-history publications, and he is co-author of Birds of Trinidad and Tobago. From his Port of Spain base, Roger runs small private birding and photography tours to the islands' headline sites: the Asa Wright Nature Centre in the Northern Range, the Caroni Swamp roost of Scarlet Ibis, and Tobago's rainforest reserve. Targets include Trinidad Motmot, Bearded Bellbird, Oilbird and a long list of hummingbirds; clients regularly log 90-plus species in a single 24-hour stretch.
