Yellowbilled Tours

Yellowbilled Tours is a small-group birding company in its 25th year, based in the San Francisco Bay Area and led primarily by Rich Cimino with co-leaders on every departure. The operation specialises in deep-California birding, from the Marin headlands at Point Reyes and Mount Tamalpais to the high passes of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, and ventures across the state line into Nevada for sagebrush specialties. Groups are deliberately capped at seven birders to keep the experience personal, and itineraries are designed to deliver the regional specialty species rather than just rack up a list. Beyond their California core, Yellowbilled also runs scheduled tours to Alaska and a selection of Latin American destinations including Belize, Guatemala, Panama and Colombia. Recent calendars include Alaska in May 2026 and continuing Sierra Nevada departures, indicating an active, established operation built around repeat clients.
