About
Wild Watch Australia is a long-running birding, wildlife and photography guiding company based in Cairns and led by professional naturalist Jonathan Munro, with origins going back to 1987. The operation works the eleven distinct habitats around Tropical North Queensland — wet tropics rainforest, Atherton Tablelands cloud forest, mangroves, savannah and coral cay — and reports averaging more than 200 species across 4-5 day tours.
Beyond the Cairns hinterland the company also runs trips up the Cape York Peninsula and across to Iron Range, Kakadu, Tasmania and other priority birding regions of Australia. Wild Watch owns and operates its own private rainforest preserve in the Tablelands, used as a base for its rainforest endemics including Golden Bowerbird, Tooth-billed Bowerbird and Victoria's Riflebird.
