About
Via Pontica Tours is a Bulgarian birdwatching outfit named for the great Western-Palearctic migration flyway that funnels storks, raptors and waterfowl along the Black Sea coast each autumn. The company runs guided trips throughout Bulgaria, with signature programmes targeting wintering Red-breasted Geese on the Dobrudzha coast, raptor migration over the Eastern Rhodopes, and the wetland and pelican spectacle at Lake Kerkini just over the Greek border.
Beyond their home country they operate set-departure tours to Spain's Catalonia and Aragón, Lithuania's spring woodpecker and owl forests, plus trips to Morocco, Serbia and Sri Lanka. Materials are published in English, Spanish and French, and the company also offers dragonfly and butterfly itineraries alongside their core bird tours.
