About
Toucan Birding Guides is a small operator run by veteran South American guide Guy Cox and based in Misiones Province, Argentina. The company offers two- and three-week custom group trips across the southern Neotropics, with Bolivia treated as a primary destination rather than a side trip.
In Bolivia, Toucan covers the standard endemic circuits (the Beni, the inter-Andean valleys, the Yungas) but also pushes into less-visited sites like Noel Kempff Mercado on the Brazilian border and the Madidi-Apolo corridor. Cox markets the company on more than 30 years of regional fieldwork and emphasises trip safety and logistics in remote areas where road travel can be unpredictable.
Groups are deliberately small and itineraries tend to combine birding with cultural stops, making Toucan a sensible match for parties that include non-birders.
