About

Tamandua is a Panamanian birding, photography and nature-travel company based in Cerro Punta in the western Chiriqui highlands. The brand grew out of the photographic work of Ignacio Yufera and Ito Santamaria, and trades on Panama's roughly 1,000-species checklist as one of the densest birding offerings in the Neotropics. Its core catalogue spans the country end to end: cloud forest and western lowlands in Chiriqui, Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean coast, Volcan Baru, Pipeline Road day trips out of Panama City, and dedicated Darien expeditions into the eastern lowlands. Tours are bilingual (English and Spanish) and span from short single-day outings to week-long, lodge-based itineraries aimed at both birders and nature photographers.
