About
Spainbirds Nature Tours (SBNT) has operated since 1999 and is one of Spain's longest-running dedicated birding tour companies, recognised by the Spanish Tourism Board as its first accredited birding tour operator (registered as CICMA 2517). The business is led by Santiago Villa, a long-time Iberian bird specialist, and runs both scheduled small-group itineraries and fully private trips.
Geographic coverage is broad: from the steppe and dehesa of Extremadura and La Mancha, through the Doñana wetlands and Strait of Gibraltar in the south, to the Cantabrian Mountains, Picos de Europa, and Spanish Pyrenees in the north. The Madrid hinterland - including the Gredos Mountains and Duratón River Natural Park - gives the operator a strong base for short-break clients flying into the capital.
Signature targets span five eagle species, Wallcreepers, Lammergeiers, Iberian Lynx, and the elusive Dupont's Lark. Scheduled tours typically run seven days, and SBNT also offers occasional overseas itineraries.
