Shore Thing Fishing Charters Bird Watching Tours

About

Shore Thing Fishing Charters operates birdwatching boat trips along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, taking small groups out to barrier islands, marshes, and shorelines that are only accessible by water. The captains pair their local knowledge of the waterways with optional pickup of a local birding expert, and the trips list more than 80 species across two primary destinations: Cat Island, which holds breeding pelicans, terns, plovers and a strong mix of shorebirds, and a Louisiana marsh route producing cormorants, rails, spoonbills, harriers and salt-marsh sparrows. Based in the Gulfport area, the operation is a small charter-boat outfit rather than a dedicated multi-guide birding company, but the unique boat-based access to Mississippi Sound barrier islands makes them a useful regional specialist for visiting birders.
