About
Schoodic Institute is a non-profit research and education organization based at the Schoodic Peninsula district of Acadia National Park in Maine, where it runs year-round Bird Ecology Programs alongside its research, citizen-science and conferencing work. The institute's bird offerings are coordinated by Senior Bird Engagement Specialist Seth Benz and include multi-day excursions, boat charters for puffins and seabirds, coastal trail walks and custom guided trips.
Flagship trips such as Katahdin Splendor and Coastal Splendor pair Acadia's boreal warbler hotspots with chartered puffin cruises and access to recently designated public lands including Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. Tours are timed early in June to maximise breeding-season variety, with a research-grade naturalist angle that distinguishes them from purely commercial operators.
