About
Robin Pope Safaris is a family-run safari operator founded in 1986 and best known for pioneering walking safaris in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park. The company runs three intimate camps in South Luangwa — Nkwali, Nsefu and the iconic Tena Tena — combining genuine bush experiences with understated luxury, and extends its program into Malawi and Zimbabwe.
While primarily a general wildlife safari operator, RPS has well-developed birding credentials, with specialist itineraries such as a Shoebill Safari into Bangweulu and a Kasanka Bat Safari that overlaps with seasonal bird concentrations. South Luangwa is noted for Pel's Fishing-Owl, Lilian's Lovebird and Böhm's Bee-eater alongside its large-mammal viewing.
The operation is one of the longest-established and most respected names in the Luangwa Valley.
