About

PuconBirding is a small birdwatching and nature-photography operator that has worked out of the lakeside town of Pucón in Chile's Araucanía Region since 2006. The team designs custom day trips and multi-day itineraries through the gateway to Patagonia and the Andes, taking guests across lake shores, volcanoes, hanging-bridge trails and ancient Araucaria forests. Guide and professional bird photographer Fernando Segú, who has documented more than 200 Chilean species, joined the company in 2015 and leads many of its outings. Trips are pitched at all skill levels and pair birding with broader natural history, with a particular focus on temperate-forest specialties such as Magellanic Woodpecker and the Nothofagus-loving tapaculos.
