Pteravia

Pteravia is a small US-Mexico birding outfit founded by ornithologist Jeff Birek, who has more than two decades of field-study and guiding experience and styles himself as the company's Chief Executive Ornithologist. Its flagship product is the Veracruz River of Raptors tour each fall, co-led with Kashmir Wolf, the Veracruz River of Raptors monitoring coordinator who grew up on the count itself. Groups work the hawkwatch towers at Cardel and Chichicaxtle on peak days when more than a million Turkey Vultures, Broad-winged and Swainson's Hawks can pass overhead, and add inland day trips to Cofre de Perote cloud forest and the Los Tuxtlas lowlands for resident species. Pteravia also offers a separate kite migration tour and custom private trips elsewhere.
