About
Oxyura Birdwatching is the personal guiding operation of Manuel Bárcena, a local Andalucian bird guide based in Chipiona on the Gulf of Cádiz coast. He runs four core itineraries: waterbirds in Doñana National and Natural Park, raptors and steppe species in Sierra Norte de Sevilla and southern Badajoz, the spring and autumn raptor migration spectacle at the Strait of Gibraltar, and pelagic trips out of Chipiona into the Gulf of Cádiz.
Services include private day tours, customised multi-day itineraries, and bird photography support across the three western Andalusian provinces of Cádiz, Sevilla, and Huelva. Bárcena is noted on Fatbirder for his regular pelagics, which give clients access to species that are difficult to see from shore along the Atlantic coast of southern Spain.
