Mitu Birdwatching Tours

Mitu Birdwatching Tours is a Colombian Amazon-focused operator based in the remote town of Mitu in the Vaupes department, deep in the Guiana Shield section of the Colombian Amazon. The area has more than 600 recorded species and is a destination birders travel specifically to visit, including Amazonian and Guianan-Shield specialities not easily reached elsewhere in Colombia. Trips are led by local guide Miguel Angel Portura Aguilar, and client trip reports describe encountering more than 240 species in a week.
