About

Mitch Doucet is a bilingual (English and French) professional birding guide based in New Brunswick, Canada, who guides on Grand Manan Island and across the Maritime provinces. Together with his wife Irene, he runs small bird and nature tours from an 8-passenger van and is well known in provincial nature clubs, leading workshops and giving talks throughout the region. Mitch is also a contract guide for Eagle-Eye Tours, leading their New Brunswick & Grand Manan Birding Tour and other Canadian itineraries. He is intimately familiar with the birding hotspots of Charlotte, Westmorland, Albert, Kent and Saint John counties, with a particular focus on Grand Manan, where he lives on Castalia Marsh and maintains a private nature sanctuary. The Doucets have logged more than 1,000 hours on Bay of Fundy waters, and offer pelagic and boating trips alongside land-based birding. Long-running eBird promoters and provincial list leaders, they specialise in fall seabird and shorebird migration as well as boreal forest species.
