Highland Nature

Highland Nature is the freelance birding and wildlife guiding business of John Poyner, established in 2013 and based in Nethy Bridge at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Before going solo, John spent more than a decade leading tours in Scotland and abroad for two of the UK's leading wildlife holiday companies, alongside winter survey contracts as a freelance field ornithologist. He runs day-guiding, multi-day private holidays and survey work across the Scottish Highlands, with particular strength in Cairngorms specialities and the seabird and cetacean coasts of the North Highlands. Tours can be tailored from short bespoke days to longer fixed itineraries covering forest, moor, mountain and coastal habitats through every season.
