Hawaii Bird Tours

Hawaii Bird Tours is a small-group birding operation founded and led by Hawaii-based guide Mandy Talpas. The company covers all four main Hawaiian Islands - Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island - with itineraries built around the surviving native forest birds and the archipelago's seabirds and waterbirds. Day trips and multi-island programs target the steadily shrinking Hawaiian Honeycreeper guild, including specialties such as Akiapolaau and Palila at Hakalau Forest on the Big Island and the imperiled Akeke'e, Akikiki, and Puaiohi on Kauai. Beyond Hawaii itself, the team also leads international birding trips through the Caribbean, New Zealand, Australia, and South America.
