About
Gaidis Grandans is a professional biologist and tour leader based in Druviena, in the forested northeastern interior of Latvia. He and his wife, a nature conservationist, run a small organic farm that doubles as a base for visiting birders and wildlife photographers, with their yard list including Three-toed Woodpecker, Pygmy Owl and Hazel Grouse.
Grandans is associated with the Latvian Owl Research Society and is regarded as a local expert on the Kolka migration corridor as well as Latvia's wetland and boreal forest sites.
