About

Foris Eco-tours is a New Zealand bird and natural history specialist based in Papamoa near Tauranga, operating extended birding tours across both the North and South Islands. Itineraries run from single-day excursions out of Rotorua and Tauranga to multi-week tours combining forest birding, alpine reserves and dedicated pelagic trips. The core programme aims to find representatives of New Zealand's six endemic bird families, including kiwi, wattlebirds, parrots and stitchbirds, with three chances to see wild kiwi and dedicated time for Kokako, Takahe, Yellow-eyed Penguin and Wrybill. Pelagic legs target storm petrels, albatrosses and other tubenoses off the Tauranga and Kaikoura coasts.
