Fine Feather Tours

Fine Feather Tours is a long-running birding outfit based in Mossman, North Queensland, owned and operated by veteran guide Del Richards. Positioned about an hour north of Cairns International Airport on the edge of the Wet Tropics, the company has been guiding clients in the region for more than two decades, drawing on Del's 40-plus years of Australian birding experience. Their tour menu ranges from full-day safaris to specialised rainforest excursions, with itineraries that move through eight distinct habitats within an hour's drive: lowland and upland rainforest, mudflats, mangroves, saltmarsh, wetland, grassland and drier savannah woodland. They also run trips along the Daintree River and inland to the Mitchell River, and contribute records of the endangered Gouldian Finch in Far North Queensland to local monitoring efforts.
