About
Fatou Tours Gambia was founded in 2019 by Fatou Senghore and Foday Bojang, two well-known local guides. Fatou is one of the few female birding guides operating in West Africa and serves as head guide with around fifteen years of field experience; Foday handles adventure and bird-spotting trips. The company is based at Sarge's Hotel in Senegambia and is fully licensed by the Gambia Tourism Board.
They offer a range of itineraries from half-day coastal birding trips to multi-week birding adventures spanning The Gambia and Senegal, often combining bird-watching with cultural visits to sites such as Kunta Kinteh Island and chimpanzee or hippo excursions on the River Gambia. The outfit operates its own vehicles and partners with affiliated lodges across the region, with a website published in both English and Dutch to serve the substantial Dutch and British birder market.
