About

Farewell Spit Eco-Tours is a long-established Golden Bay operator that has been running for around seventy years from its base in Collingwood, on the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island. The company holds permits to drive guests well past the public access limit, deep into the 35-kilometer Farewell Spit Ramsar wetland. Three main excursions focus on the spit itself, the Australasian Gannet colony, and dedicated Wader Watch trips for visiting Arctic-breeding shorebirds. Tours also pass the historic Farewell Spit lighthouse and Cape Farewell.
