About
Far South Expeditions is a Punta Arenas-based nature and birding outfit founded in 1997, focused on small-group expeditions across the length of Chile and into the Sub-Antarctic. The company runs both scheduled departures and private trips capped at around eight participants, and is one of the few Chilean operators with deep logistics in extreme southern Patagonia, including pelagic charters into the Magellan Strait and dedicated Magellanic Plover and Ruddy-headed Goose itineraries.
Its guiding roster includes long-time Patagonian naturalists Claudio Vidal and Rodrigo Tapia, and the company offers specialized northern-Chile programs out of Arica and Putre alongside its core Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, Lake District, and Humboldt Current pelagic departures from Valparaíso and Quintero.
