Enchanted India

Enchanted India is the birding and wildlife tour company of Nikhil Devasar, the Delhi-based birder, author, and Leica India brand ambassador who founded the delhibird Foundation (the India Bird Network) in 2000 and organised the first Indian Bird Fair. From a starting point of a two-person weekend bird walk, delhibird now claims more than 50,000 members, and Devasar parlayed that community work into a paid tour operation under the Enchanted India brand. The company runs escorted small-group bird tours to most of India's headline destinations, with a particular emphasis on the Kutch and Rajasthan grasslands for bustards, the Northeast for songbirds, the Andamans for endemics, and Himalayan trips for Monal and other pheasants. Devasar also leads occasional international extensions to Bhutan, Israel, Iceland, and East Africa. Devasar has co-authored Birds about Delhi: A Field Guide and contributed to Birds of South India, lending the company a stronger publishing and SEO footprint than most boutique Indian birding operators.
