Eldhose Bird Tours

Eldhose Bird Tours is run by Kerala-based guide Eldhose K.V. out of Thattekad, near the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in the southern Western Ghats. The operation pairs guided field trips with a small birding lodge and a network of photographic hides that have become particularly popular with Asian bird photographers. Itineraries cover roughly 300 species across South India, with extensions into Munnar, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Eldhose has been birding the Thattekad forests since childhood and is best known for reliable looks at up to a dozen owl species along with Western Ghats endemics.
