About
ConQuest Adventures is a Nairobi-based specialist tour operator with more than a decade of experience running small-group birding tours, nature photography journeys, and wildlife safaris across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Their reputation among visiting birders rests on a roster of skilled local guides — including Mwangi Gitau, Kevin Gichuki, John Gitiri, Nicholas Tugumisirize, and Wilson Keith Tiren — who pursue the country's tougher endemics rather than just the standard mammal-and-flamingo circuit.
A typical Kenya itinerary spans Nairobi National Park, the Aberdare highlands and Kinangop Plateau (Aberdare Cisticola and Sharpe's Longclaw), Mount Kenya's southern slopes for Hinde's Babbler, the Rift Valley lakes from Naivasha and Nakuru up to Baringo, and the coastal Sokoke and Taita forests. They also offer day trips out of Nairobi to Karura and Ngong Road forests for visitors with limited time.
Besides the headline endemics, the team is known for finding harder Afromontane species like Olive Ibis and Abbott's Starling on Mt. Kenya, and for routinely producing trip reports and eBird checklists that other guides reference. They run extensive cross-border programs into Uganda's Mabamba Swamp for Shoebill and Tanzania's northern circuit.
