China Bird Tour

China Bird Tour is a small specialist birding operator founded by Tang Jun, who began working in the Chinese travel industry in 1993 before refocusing on birdwatching tourism from 1999 onwards. The company is based in Chengdu, Sichuan, and runs custom and small-group tours across most of China's prime birding regions. Itineraries include the classic Sichuan pheasant and tragopan circuit, the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, southeast China for wintering Spoon-billed Sandpipers and Relict Gulls, and shorter regional trips covering Fujian, Guangxi, Hebei, Jiangsu, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Yunnan and Zhejiang. The operator is best known for delivering the full Chinese pheasant and tragopan suite alongside endemic laughingthrushes and partridges. Tours are typically run as tailor-made private trips for individuals and small groups, with English-language guiding by Tang Jun himself. The company also handles inbound logistics for visiting overseas birding tour operators.
