About
Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris is a US-based wildlife and birding tour operator founded by Gail and Doug Cheeseman and headquartered in Los Gatos, California. The company has been running small-group natural-history expeditions for decades and is particularly well known for its long, field-intensive polar voyages to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Arctic.
Outside the polar regions Cheesemans operates a global wildlife programme that includes dedicated birding tours — for example a Colombia trip marketed around the country's roughly 1,900 species — alongside flagship mammal-watching itineraries for jaguars in the Pantanal, polar bears in Svalbard and tigers in India. Their Central America offerings include Costa Rica's parks and reserves.
