About
Carlos Henrique Luz Nunes de Almeida is a Brazilian ornithologist and herpetologist based in Campinas, São Paulo, who has worked as a wildlife and birdwatching guide since 2008. He holds a PhD in Animal Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and is registered as a national and South American tour guide (Cadastur).
His personalized birding itineraries cover the Atlantic Forest of São Paulo and neighboring states, with extensions to the Cerrado and Pantanal of Mato Grosso, the southern Amazon, and Northwest Ecuador. Clients consistently single out his exceptional ear for bird vocalizations as a defining strength of his guiding.
Because Carlos guides personally rather than running a company, trips are small-group or private and combine birding with mammal, amphibian, and photography interests depending on the client.
