Branta Tours

Branta Tours is a Bulgarian birding and wildlife operator built around the wintering grounds of the Red-breasted Goose along the Black Sea coast. The company explicitly ties its tours to conservation of the species, arguing that ecotourism revenue underpins protection of this critically endangered long-distance migrant. From that Bulgarian base it runs an unusually east-leaning portfolio: full programmes in Bulgaria and Romania (Dobrudja, Danube delta and Rhodopes), specialist trips into Belarus for Aquatic Warbler and old-growth lowland forest birding, and Central Siberia expeditions out of the Krasnoyarsk region. Trips beyond birds also pick up flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, reptiles and mammals. Logistics use small group sizes, 4WD vehicles and experienced regional guides, with Swarovski-equipped optics provided. The company runs in English, French and German, and operates an associated 'Bed and Birding' lodge and the Eastern Bird Fair.
