Borneo Birds

Borneo Birds is the one-man birding operation of CK 'Ceekay' Leong, a full-time bird guide based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. He has been birding since 1987 — converted, in his own telling, by a chance look through a visiting birder's scope at a White-browed Shrike-babbler — and has guided commercially across Borneo for many years. His core ground is Sabah, particularly the Mount Kinabalu massif and the lowland forests around Kota Kinabalu, with regular access to the classic endemic sites for the Whitehead's trio and the endemic White-fronted Falconet. He also runs trips into Sarawak and has guided birding tours further afield in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Nepal. The associated site doubles as an online field reference, with a long-running blog of species accounts and photography dating back to 2008.
