Boris Belchev

Boris Belchev is a Bulgarian-born birding guide and wildlife photographer who relocated to Lithuania in 2007 and is now based in the Nemunas Delta. A state-certified guide (Nr. 14808) with a Bachelor's in Ecology from Vytautas Magnus University, he was the first person to offer dedicated birding guiding in Lithuania, and is regarded as one of the country's foremost wildlife guides. Through his company Alcedo Wildlife (founded 2019) Boris runs guided birding trips, custom tours, migration tours and zero-emission eco-tours in the Nemunas Delta and Curonian Spit, and co-operates the 4Eagles wildlife photography hides. He specializes in woodpeckers, owls and the suite of Eastern European wetland and forest species — Aquatic Warbler, Great Snipe, White-tailed Eagle and the two spotted eagles being signature targets.
