About
Birdwatching Helsinki is the private guiding service of Samuel Bloch, based in the Finnish capital. He runs short walking tours and full-day car-based outings to the three best nature reserves within thirty minutes of central Helsinki: the reedbeds and fields of Vanhakaupunki, the migration hotspot at Laajalahti, and the gull colony at Suomenoja.
Bloch supplies a birding scope and tailors trips for everyone from first-time visitors to experienced listers, with seasonal specialties including White-tailed Eagle, Black Woodpecker, Common Rosefinch, Horned Grebe and lekking Black Grouse in April. Tours are offered in English, French, Spanish and Finnish, with pricing ranging from a three-hour walk at €90 to a full-day car tour at €350 for solo clients.
