Birdwatching Egypt (Mohamed Arabi)

Tour guideSoloLocal

About

Mohamed Arabi, known throughout the Egyptian birding community as the Birdman of Aswan, has guided visiting ornithologists along the Upper Nile for around three decades. He operates out of Aswan with his sons Diaa and Saleh, running half-day and day-long boat- and land-based birding excursions on the Nile, the surrounding desert fringes and the nearby Nubian villages. His tours target the resident specialities of the Aswan area together with the Palaearctic migrants and wintering waterbirds that funnel through the Nile Valley, and are frequently combined with cultural visits to Nubian villages and short Nile cruises. The Birdman of Aswan is one of the few dedicated bird guides operating south of Luxor and is the standard recommendation in Fatbirder and trip-report literature for anyone birding Aswan and the southern Nile.
