Birding Texas & Beyond, LLC was founded by guide Oscar Carmona, who began leading weekend trips in the Rio Grande Valley in 1997. The company has since grown into a full-service operation covering the major Texas birding regions — Rio Grande Valley, Hill Country, Trans-Pecos, the Pineywoods of East Texas, and the Upper and Central Coasts — along with tours into Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and California. Itineraries routinely tally 200-plus species, with the operation specializing in the South Texas specialties of the Rio Grande Valley (Green Jay, Altamira Oriole, Plain Chachalaca, Ringed Kingfisher) and trans-border targets such as Colima Warbler in the Chisos Mountains. Scheduled, custom, and virtual tour formats are offered.
