About
Birding in Spain is run by Steve West, a British author and guide who has birded northeast Spain extensively since 1988. From his base in the region, Steve leads tailored birding tours and photography trips across Catalonia, Aragon and Navarra, with additional itineraries in Mallorca, Extremadura and even Iceland.
The operation combines hands-on guiding with a substantial library of self-guided itineraries, hide-photography sessions and reference books authored by Steve himself. Signature targets include the Pyrenean Wallcreeper, Lammergeier and the Selva de Irati's rare lilfordi race of White-backed Woodpecker, alongside Iberian specialties such as Dupont's Lark, Great Bustard and Bonelli's Eagle.
