About
Birding in Mexico is a guided-tour outfit based in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, focused on the Pacific lowlands and foothill forests of west-central Mexico. The team includes Alejandro Martinez (a SECTUR- and CIPAMEX-certified Mexican bird guide), ornithologist and photojournalist Greg R. Homel, and avifauna researcher Dennis W. Boddy.
The outfit runs day and multi-day itineraries through Banderas Bay, San Blas and the wider Riviera Nayarit, El Tuito and the Sierra Vallejo, Rancho Primavera, and the Marietas Islands for seabirds. Tours target the region's roughly 300+ recorded species with a particular focus on west-Mexican endemics such as Military Macaw, San Blas Jay, and Mexican Woodnymph.
