Birding Expeditions is the dedicated bird-tour brand of Martsam Travel, an Antigua Guatemala-based ground operator that has been running tours since 1994. The company markets bilingual local guides trained in field biology and ornithology, and operates across Guatemala plus extensions into Belize, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador. Tours work the standard Guatemalan circuit - Antigua, Lake Atitlan, the Coban cloud forest at Biotopo del Quetzal and Tikal in Peten - and the company also operates a parallel branded site (Birdwatching Guatemala / Jungle Tours Guatemala) targeting a more general nature-tourism audience. Martsam advertises a Guatemala country list of 766 species and offers private custom-built itineraries in addition to set departures.
