About
Birding Albania is the first specialised birdwatching tour operator in Albania, founded and led by Mirjan Topi, the country's leading ornithologist. Topi studied at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Montpellier and has built the business around bringing visiting birders into Albania's full range of habitats, from the coastal wetlands of the Adriatic and the Karavasta and Narta lagoons to the alpine meadows of the Albanian Alps and the limestone forests of the country's interior.
Beyond Albania, the agency runs cross-border itineraries through the South-Western Balkans, including dedicated tours in Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece, as well as combined regional trips. Alongside birding, the team offers herping, botanical and wildlife-and-culture tours, taking advantage of Albania's reputation as one of Europe's most species-rich and least-explored corners.
