About
Almodôvar Birding Center and Observatory is based in the village of Almodôvar in Portugal's Alentejo, on the doorstep of the Castro Verde steppe country famous for Great Bustard and Spanish Imperial Eagle. The centre offers half-day to multi-night tours focused on the steppic and Mediterranean habitats of the lower Alentejo, with the noted ornithologist and seabird author Hadoram Shirihai associated with its programme.
Beyond the home patch, the operator runs extended Iberia itineraries into Spain and Catalonia, plus archipelago add-ons covering Madeira, the Azores, the Canary Islands, the Balearics and Cape Verde, including pelagic trips for tubenoses. The flagship product is a six-night stay paired with a three-day steppe tour.
